Closing time

This semester is coming to an end. I’m really going to miss all of my residents and the team dynamic from this year and most of my RA staff. Next year I’m looking forward to my new roommate and living situation, spending more time with my cohort girls, and training my president replacement for next year, who will be elected in about 3 hours. Today I took a little break for 2 hours after my last final. I’ve still got 1 essay to write and 2 lesson plans to finish, but for the most part my semester is closing and my residents are starting to move out :(

Preserving my schedule for all posterity (and possibly an explanation why I haven’t been on the internet since February), each week consisted of:

  • 11 hours of work
  • 9 hours of class
  • 10 hours of practicum (and 2 1/2 of travel time)
  • 2-6 hours of RA related things
  • 10 hours of rowing practice (and 4 of travel time)
  • 2-8 hours of rowing-related captain/coach things (making lineups, registering for races, planning trips, etc.)
  • homework, eating, and sleeping.

Not including weekends that we had races. It’s been quite the semester.

I’m glad it’s over, for the most part. It’s been really difficult to keep my head on straight and not get overwhelmed.

Crew has started again and is in full swing. We race in Omaha this weekend. We have been practicing like crazy (2/day) and I’ve gotten approximately 5 hours of sleep a night between eating and homework and class and work and practicum placements. It’s crazy.
I’m also taking the teacher licensing exam Saturday morning, THEN leaving for Omaha to race Sunday.
I wonder when I get to make up all this sleep I’ve lost and the homework I’m behind on? But as much as I complain… I couldn’t imagine my life without rowing.
And for those wondering, I’m the teeny one with the blue headband in the picture :)

I live in a dorm. I am a Resident Assistant. If you happen to be a resident in a dorm, please be good to your RA. Please be courteous to your peers. Or else we’ll go crazy and do this:

lmao yessss

lol this reminds me of marysa. omg i hope she does this to her residents when they act dumb.

hahahahah

As a Christian, an American, and a Human being this both frustrates and embarasses me.

There’s so much wrong with some parts of this video that it actually starts to get funny.

Their hatred and ignorance makes me so sad. I really cannot understand how people can treat other humans in such a manner.

Mindfuck.

My. God. or Allah. Or the flying spaghetti monster in the sky, whatever you believe in. This video kills me. I’m at a loss for words right now. How is this still happening? How are people this ignorant?

oh goodness. Who lets their 4 year old use the computer like this!? So cute.

Men aren’t stupid, and you don’t need a complicated set of rules to find a good one who loves you. Here’s the only rule you need: if a man loves you, he will do anything he can to keep you around. Anything.
